A nature-inspired floral design company

We are focused on growing and using British flowers to create natural floral arches, bouquets and original decor for weddings and unique events.

The Little Flower Plot has grown from a few seeds planted in a vegetable plot, to a cutting garden producing seasonal flowers for weddings and events.

Run by Jaci with support from family and friends, The Little Flower Plot is a quarter of an acre garden with beds of annual and perennial flowers, a small rose garden, herb patch and shubbery. The old vegetable plot that was once dedicated to potatoes and beetroot has now been cleared to make room for a polytunnel with some beds left for seasonal planting.

At the plot we try to maintain a natural garden ecosystem, balancing the planting with a small pond for wildlife and areas left with nettles and weeds to encourage ladybirds and bees. The old apple tree is a feature of the garden plot, still producing an abundance of cooking apples every year (with the occasion broken greenhouse pane!). Dotted around the rest of the plot are fruit trees and shrubs including a Nottinghamshire medlar, pear and plum trees as well as gooseberries, red and blackcurrants edging the flower beds.

A place where British flowers and home-grown really means something

We grow a wide range of carefully curated, seasonal British flowers at The Little Flower Plot, including traditional summer favourites such as ammi majus delphiniums, cornflowers, roses and larkspur.

We love using British flowers, as they really suit our Organised Wild style, and we do so as much as possible to source good quality flower supplies. Due to our small size our floral designs are sometimes complemented by the use of selected flowers from local flower farms and British flower wholesalers.

As season and varieties available can occasionally be restrictive for our wedding and event customers, we remain open to some varieties of imported flowers and foliage, always ensuring their source is traceable.

Our floristry style is Organised Wild

Embracing naturally grown twisted stems and shapes and incorporating structured elements into our free form designs is how our love of nature inspires our designs. We love using seasonal colours and textures that occur naturally in the wild, whilst keeping the beauty of carefully selected home-grown flowers at the centre of our designs.

Jaclyn Lott Florist for The Little Flower Plot

A little bit about our florist Jaci…

Jaci has always loved vintage design and original, eclectic home decor, as well as knitted clothing and books. Then a few years ago she discovered a love for all things β€˜flower’. Managing and creating her garden as an escape from her daily seat in front of a computer. Along with regular walks through the countryside Jaci grew an appreciation of all things wild and natural.

Gardening at her home led Jaci to grow an abundance of diverse, British cut flowers, mixing perennials and annuals to display throughout the season. She quickly wondered what to do with them all. How could she share their beauty with others? So she started learning floristry at evening classes and, once she had the basics, moved on to widen my knowledge of floral and colour trends, event styling and expertise in floral design. After becoming a freelance florist for bespoke weddings and events Jaci created The Little Flower Plot, and cultivated the Organised Wild philosophy to share with others.

Working towards a better future at the plot

Our philosophy at The Little Flower Plot is to be as sustainable and eco-conscious as possible. We ensure our floristry techniques and growing resources are reusable and support the natural environment.

We are continuously working towards improving our growing practices and working with sustainable growing methods, which helps us bring natural flowers directly from the garden to the customer.
